RESNET Seeking Individuals to Assist in Developing Infrared Scanning Standard

The thermal imaging technology has advanced significantly in the past few years and the price of equipment has grown more affordable.

To pave the way to achieving the potential of this technology RESNET is considering adopting a standard for conducting an infrared scanning standard. A draft standard is currently be developed by a RESNET standard drafting committee. The committee is basing its work on the experience of its members and the United Kingdom’s standard for using the technology in measuring the quality of insulation installation.

It is anticipated that the standard will address:

  • Moisture Intrusion
  • Insulation Defects
  • Air Infiltration
  • Thermal Bypass

RESNET is seeking interested persons to serve on a standard task force. The task force will be responsible for reviewing and commenting on the draft standard developed by the drafting committee. The input from members of the task force will be used by the RESNET Technical Committee and the RESNET Board of Directors in its deliberations on adopting the standard.

If you are interested in volunteering to serve on this task please e-mail Steve Baden at sbaden@resnet.us In you e-mail please to include your name, company and e-mail address.
