RESNET Board Suspends Disk Based Option of National Rater Test

RESNET staff has recently completed an security review of the RESNET National Rater Test. The two consultants we employed found one of the greatest security threats to the RESNET test was the disk based test. The consultants could find no options for making the disk based test secure.

On September 14, 2007, at its fall meeting, the RESNET Board of Directors voted that due to the lack of security, the disk based test option will no longer be permitted until the security concerns with the test can be resolved.

Security of the RESNET test is utmost priority to the organization. It is unfortunate that this action had to be taken but two consultants who reviewed the security of the test identified the disk based test as the greatest immediate vulnerability.
