What is RESBlog?

RESBlog is the official web log of RESNET. It is your information source on residential energy efficiency.

What is a Blog?

Blog is short for web log. It’s an interactive online information source, with the most recent entry on top.

Why should I use the RESBlog?

RESBlog lets us get up-to-date news and updates directly from RESNET. You do not have to wait to hear about it on trade journals, RESNET Notes, or on the home page. It also allows you to join in discussions with other professionals interested in residential energy efficiency.

What Sort of Things are Posted on RESBlog?

Blog entries include statements from RESNET, calls to action, reports from programs across the country, breaking news with links to more detailed information, and dispatches from the field.

Who Posts Entries on RESBlog?

RESNET staff and guest writers post on RESBlog.

Why are Some Words on RESBlog in Bold Blue Letters?

These words are links to other web sites. Clicking on the bold words will take you to the page.

What Does It mean to “link”?

RESNET provides links to relevant stories, articles, or websites. It must be remembered that RESNET does not necessarily endorse and is not responsible for the content of external sites linked to from RESBlog.

Can anyone visit RESBlog?

Yes, RESBlog is free and requires no registration.

How is RESBlog Interactive?

RESBlog also serves as a spirited forum for residential energy efficiency, and the hub of the RESNET online community. Twenty fours hours a day, seven days a week residential energy efficiency professionals from all across the country are able to debate issues, organize, argue, joke, and bring innovative ideas to RESNET.

How do I join the on-line discussion and community?

Just click on “Comments” at the bottom of each blog entry. This will open a page of comments known as a “thread”.

Can I forward an entry to a colleague?

Yes, just click on “Forward” at the bottom of each entry and type in the e-mail address of who all you want to forward the blog entry to.

What is the difference between an entry and comment?

Entries appear on the RESBlog main page and are posted only by RESNET staff. Comments appear in the threads and can be posted by anyone.

How can I post a comment?

It’s easy. At the end of each comment thread there is a place to post your own comment.

Do I have to register to make a comment?

No. Just enter your name and e-mail address, and speak your mind. Your address will not be added to any RESNET mailing list.

Can I post anything I want?

RESNET encourages you to stay on topic, but we do not edit comments with which we disagree. We reserve the right to delete comments that are rude, derogatory, libelous or offensive.

When can I post a comment?

You can join a discussion any time of the day or night. Typically, the most lively discussions happen on the most recent thread.

Can I change a comment once I have posted it?

No. Your comment is saved permanently in the archives and can be read by anybody.

How do I find an old entry or thread?

All entries are saved in the archives, which can be linked to by clicking on RESBlog Archives.
