Proposed RESNET National Energy Audit Standard
RESNET has drafted a national standard for energy audits of existing
homes. The draft standard is the result of two years of consensus
building of the RESNET Task Force on National Standard for Energy Audit
for Existing Homes. The task force had a broad membership and
represented wide spectrum of views on the issue. For information on the
task force,

Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, building
performance sponsor organizations and the Building Performance
Institute.
In January 2008 RESNET conducted a public review and comment process
on the draft standard. As a result of the comments received through the
review process and input received at a session on the draft standard at
the 2008 RESNET Building Performance Conference, the standard has been
significantly modified. To view comments that were received through the
public comment process

Public comments on the revised draft will be accepted until April 17,
2008. At the bottom of this page is a link to an on-line form to submit
your comments. At the completion of the comment period the RESNET Board
will review the comments and revise the proposed standard where
appropriate. The standard will then be submitted to the Amendment
Revision Committee that is composed of three representatives of the
rating industry and three representatives of state energy offices. The
RESNET Board will then consider the recommendations of the revision
committee and then vote on whether to adopt the amendments.
